Austin College Presents Lessons and Carols

SHERMAN, TEXAS-Austin College's annual Service of Lessons and Carols will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, in Wynne Chapel. The event is free and all members of the campus and local community are invited to attend.

The Service of Lessons and Carols will include Hebrew and Christian scriptures, carols, anthems, a candle-lighting ceremony, and presentations by Austin College choirs, directed by Wayne Crannell, associate professor of music. College Chaplain John Williams will officiate at the service. A number of other students, staff, and faculty will participate in the readings, including freshman Lillie Hutton of The Woodlands, Texas; sophomore Zane Daniel of San Angelo, Texas; junior Risa Rylander of Dallas, Texas; and senior Cora Barraza of Dallas, Texas; Michael Deen, director of student life; Philip Barker, associate professor of political science; and Lisa Brown, associate professor of psychology.
