SHERMAN, TEXAS -Members of the Austin College Kappa Gamma Chi sorority will host their annual fundraising 5K 'Roo Run and one-mile Joey Walk on Saturday, October 27, and invite all interested runners in the community to participate. Registration is $15 per person to be paid the day of the race, with registration beginning at 8 a.m. at the entrance of Ida Green Communication Center on Brockett Street. Both routes begin at 8:30 a.m. at that location and will finish at the starting line. Parental supervision is encouraged for children.
All proceeds from the race will benefit Grayson Grand Central Station - Soup Kitchen. Last year, the race garnered approximately $700 for the organization. Refreshments and prizes will follow the race. All runners will receive a 2012 'Roo Run t-shirt.
The run, which the Kappas have sponsored for many years, is part of Homecoming events at Austin College.
