Drivers should be aware of work zone closures in the area

GRAYSON COUNTY - Drivers in Grayson County should expect to see work zones and lane closures in the month of February as The Texas Department of Transportation begins two separate road improvement projects.

Starting Feb.3 crews will upgrade asphalt pavement to concrete pavement on the north and southbound lanes of US 75 from FM 902 to Shepherd Drive. Barricades for this project went up Jan. 27. The project is expected to be complete August 2014.

Beginning Feb. 10, Loy Lake Road will be widened over US 75. This project is expected to be complete in February 2015.

Some work will be performed during daytime traffic and will require temporary lane closures or detours. TxDOT reminds drivers to slow down, observe warning signs and avoid distraction in work zones.

For more information, contact Becky Ozuna with TxDOT Media Relations at becky.ozuna@txdot.gov or (512) 463-2406.
