[Dallas, TX] -March 11, 2014, The Texas Society Daughters of the American Revolution convened their 115th Conference at the downtown Dallas Hyatt Regency, March 6-9, 2014.

State Regent and Houstonian, Pamela Rouse Wright, presided over the annual gathering as over 1,400 members and guests attended informative meetings, educational workshops, visited with old friends and made new connections. Especially memorable were individuals receiving recognition for outstanding leadership, volunteerism and vision in areas such as historic preservation, education, patriotism, conservation, and journalism. Award recipients inspired attendees through their courage, military service, charitable endeavors and unwavering love of country.

Preston Trail Daughter, Mary Lou Madden received a Certificate of Appreciation for her service in the U.S. Military.

Preston Trail Chapter received Certificates of Appreciation for the following: Excellence in Literacy Promotion, Excellence in DAR Good Citizens Program, Excellence in promoting
American History through a play "Times of the Preston Trail" written by daughter Leta Koch, DAR Service for Veterans, Excellence in participating in activities that promote Celebrate America!, Excellence in Women's Issues, Excellence in History Preservation, Excellence in supporting the Genealogical Records Committee's Every-Name Indexing Project, Outstanding Chapter Media Coverage: Internet and Honorable Mention for their Chapter Newsletter.
