Austin College Art Exhibit Examines ?Surface?
Feb 17, 2014 - Feb 21, 2014
Forster Art Complex

SHERMAN, TEXAS?The Austin College Department of Art and Art History hosts the exhibition ?Surface? by artist Sherie Lehman now through March 21 in Dennis Gallery of the College?s Forster Art Complex. The Betsy Dennis Forster Art Studio Complex is located on the north side of campus. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. For information, call 903.813.2048. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Lehman earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in weaving at North Texas State University in 1984 (now University of North Texas). Through time and travels, she developed a method to channel her love of color and texture through photographing the weathered walls of third world countries. Upon moving to mid-coast Maine in 2000, Lehman found inspiration in the neglected and scarred fishing boats sitting in local boatyards.
