Sherman Community Players’ final production of the season will be Meredith Willson’s all-American musical comedy THE MUSIC MAN which celebrates the bygone era of Smalltown, USA. Fast –talking traveling salesman Harold Hill cons the people of River City into buying instruments and uniforms for a boy’s band he vows to organize, despite the fact he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. Nearly 50 people attended Second Saturday at Hagerman NWR to hear Dr. George Diggs' program, Trees of Texoma. Dr. Diggs, Austin College biology professor, gave keys to tree identification and discussed factors influencing the distribution of tree species in the Texoma area, in an informal lecture, then led the group in a nature walk on the Refuge.
