In recent weeks I have written about the interim committee charges for the 32 standing committees. Each committee meets during the interim in order to hear testimony regarding its charges. Recently, the House Committee on Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, of which I am a member, met in Austin to hear from the state agencies it oversees: Texas Parks and Wildlife; the State Library and Archives Commission; and the State Preservation Board.
