Denison resident Mike Chiles has been named Photographer of the Month for May, 2010, by the Friends of Hagerman NWR. A virtual album of twelve of Chiles� photos, including the Red-tailed Hawk shown here, can be viewed on the Friends website, www.friendsofhagerman.com.

Chiles says he started photography during his school days, especially during high school, shooting 35 millimeter film. Just recently he got into digital photography, and generally uses a Nikon D90 . . .

The North Texas Concert Chorale, under the direction of Ms. Amye Derix, will present its final concerts for the 2008-2009 season on May 2 & 7, 2010. The free concerts will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 322 W. Pecan St., in Sherman at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 2nd, and at Parkside Baptist Church, 301 N. Enjoy a photo excursion at Hagerman NWR, in small groups of 3, each led by experienced photographers who can help you set up that perfect shot - shorebirds, wildflowers, landscapes and more.
