The Grand Opening of The Old Pink Poodle is scheduled for October 18, 2003. Along with great food, super drink specials and Twister 96.7 radio, The Steve Stone Band Will be performing. It is sure to be a Saturday that rocks Fort Worth!
The Steve Stone Band is a local band with members from Grapevine, Lewisville, Krum, Euless and Denton. Their style of music is considered Traditional / Red Dirt but they say it is much more.
"What we aim for is a unique sound that we call "real country". We have many originals that I and some of the band have written. On our covers, we blend the traditional country sounds of Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings with the new Texas Country sound and then splash a little rock in there. Heck, we even play Red House by Jimi Hendrix! It truly is unique!" says Steve Stone.
The band consists of a rhythm guitar, a bass, lead guitar, backup vocals and drums. Stone, a resident of Grapevine, plays rhythm guitar and is the lead singer. C. D. McCullough, of Denton, plays a solid bass and Valerie Harris provides harmonies. Mark Taylor, of Lewisville, plays a rockin' lead guitar and provides vocals and Luke Taylor, Resident of Krum, is the bands drummer and Marks little brother.
"We are extremely excited about the Grand Opening of The Old Pink Poodle" says McCullough. "We performed here last month in the early stages of the new club and had a great time! Mike, The owner has certainly worked himself silly on this place. This will give us a chance to play for our fans and friends in our area. Due to the fact that we have to go to where the bookings are, playing around home is something we can't always do."
The Grand Opening of The Old Pink Poodle will be on October 18, 2003 pretty much all day and The band will go on at 9:00 PM. Directions are on The Steve Stone Band web site at www.stevestone.o-f.com. ###
