GLOBAL WARMING…or Global Cooling!

Much is said and even more is written about global warming, about global dimming, about the “greenhouse” effect, and even about “holes” in the Earth’s Ozone Layer. And, perhaps even one or more of these environmental conditions may even be happening; however, what are the real climate alternatives? Yes, there really are alternatives! Let’s see, we could have “global neutral”…like in total stagnation. I guess this would be when the Earth’s temperature is neither increasing nor decreasing. Or, we could have “global cooling!” I guess this would be when the Earth is generally cooling over time…like in a return to the ice age. And of course, there is the much touted “nemesis” to the Earth the general warming of the Earth over time. Thus, we are in reality confronted with but three alternatives…or perhaps even a selection of intermediate alternatives all of which lead directly back to the same three basic alternatives; e.g., global warming, global neutral, or global cooling! Before we hasten too quickly toward the wrong environmental conclusion perhaps we really need to come to grips with reality! You know, is there really an environmental problem…or maybe there is really a non-problem! Should the Earth’s average temperature be really increasing as some theorists postulate, then perhaps we need to know just how much of a temperature increase is taking place per century? Or, if the Earth’s temperature is really decreasing as others postulate, then how much of a temperature decrease is actually taking place per millennium? And, when the global temperature issue is really confronted we may realize we really have a real non-problem, and quickly brush the whole average temperature change problem aside in favor of solving some real world problems!
