Art patrons have only one more week to view the current Texoma Woodcarvers Guild exhibit on display in the foyer of the Sherman Public Library. The exhibit is a sample of pieces from the Fall TWG Show & Sale that will be held in the Municipal Ballroom, in conjunction with Sherman Arts Festival, on September 15 -16.
A work in progress in the current exhibit is a Nativity scene. Each member of TWG is carving one figure for the scene, from beautiful butternut wood. A drawing for this Christmas treasure will be held at the close of the arts festival; tickets will be sold there and are available from TWG members. Interested persons can contact Dick Malnory, 903-532-5429. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to Home Hospice of Grayson County.
Woodcarvers interested in entering the show or learning more about it are invited to visit www.shermantx.org, click on Festival and scroll to woodcarving event.
