Our downtown Sherman neighbors sponsored an Oktoberfest and block party featuring entertainment and fun on October 12, 2006. Those that participated in the B.Y.O.P. (Bring Your Own Pumpkin) carving by the chefs of Kelly’s Restaurant are now enjoying custom jack'o'lanterns. The streets were closed for the music and cool evening stroll along The Shops on South Travis, These locally-owned businesses provide extraordinary shopping and spa services. Approximately 75 participants enjoyed treats, refreshments, music, relaxation and rejuvenation just in time for the holiday season. Daniel Phipps of Austin College provided live music, and the younger members of the audience enjoyed their close up view as they sat right in the street. Take your opportunity to get acquainted with the friendly folks at Bella Fontana Spa, Special Occasions Florists, Ray Bob Antiques, Brenda’s Antiques, The Perfect Touch and Glass Works by Jennifer. You’ll find great gift ideas at our specialty shops. We are your neighbors and we are just downtown!
