Sherman Community Players managing and artistic director Ron Cassady has announced his cast for the upcoming comedy DAD’S CHRISTMAS MIRACLE, a new play that is reminiscent of the popular holiday favorite A CHRISTMAS STORY.
The play, written by Pat Cook, travels back to the 1950’s and centers around young Connor Murphy who wants a go-cart for Christmas in the worst way. However, his teacher really gums up the works by handing out report cards just before Christmas vacation. From the looks of his grades, Connor knows this is going to be a “socks and underwear” kind of Christmas. His sister also stirs things up by announcing she isn’t telling anyone what she wants, only God, who knows all things. Humorous and heart-warming family situations abound in this loving memory of Yuletide charm.
Playing the leading role of Connor is Chase Fowler, and his two best friends are Taylor Nall and Daniel Clark. Cast as their teacher is Amy Robinson. Billy Keene and Jessica Adams play his mother and father, and Kaylea Daubenspeck and Andy Hathaway are his younger sister and older brother. Rounding out the ten-member cast are Ellie Margolis as the sister’s friend and Julia McKinney as the next-door neighbor.
Production personnel in addition to Cassady as director include Teresa Matthews as stage manager Webster Crocker, as technical director, Karen Schuth as costumer. Krystina Burns as prop mistress and Mickie Martin as production chairman.
DAD’S CHRISTMAS MIRACLE will open November 30 and play through December 16. The Box Office opens for season members Monday and Tuesday, November 26 and 27 and for the general public on November 28. Group reservations may be made early by calling Mary-Ann at 903-892-6513
