The Sherman Community Players’ current production is Dad’s Christmas Miracle. With its nostalgic look backward to the late 1950’s, this new play is reminiscent of the popular holiday favorite A CHRISTMAS STORY. The play centers around young Connor Murphy who wants a go-cart for Christmas in the worst way. However, his teacher really gums up the works by handling out report cards just before Christmas vacation. From the looks of his grades, Connor knows this is going to be a “socks and underwear” kind of Christmas. His volunteer sister also stirs things up by announcing she isn’t telling anyone what she wants, only God, who knows all things. Humorous and heart-warming family situations abound in this loving memory of Yuletide charm. The ten-member cast showcases six talented young teenagers who have trained with the SCP children’s theatre program Theatricks and are now assuming major roles in a Main Stage production. There are only four shows remaining: Thursday, 13th at 8:00p.m., Friday, December 7th & 14th at 8:00p.m., Saturday, 15th at 8:00p.m. and Sunday, December 16th at 2:00p.m. Tickets are selling out quickly so don’t delay in calling the box office for your tickets.
