Donna Cole will be the speaker for the Second Saturday Nature Program at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge set for March 8. The program, “Creating a Backyard Habitat for Wildlife” is free, open to the public, and will begin at 10 a.m., in the AV Center at the Refuge.
Participants will learn how to provide the essentials for wildlife, food, water, shelter, and space - within the "norms" for the home landscape - using native plants, birdbaths or ponds, and natural or manmade nesting places.
Ms. Cole is native to the North Central Texas area and is a certified Texas Master Naturalist. She credits her parents for instilling in her a great interest in nature, and is passing this legacy on as she teaches both children and adults about natural history, geology and archaeology.
