Kenneth Jeffcoat has been named June Photographer of the Month by the Friends of Hagerman NWR. Mr. Jeffcoat, who is employed at MEMC, began photography as a hobby ten years ago, with a Minolta-Maxxum SPXI he received as a Christmas gift from his daughter and wife. The following Father's Day, he received a Quantaray Tech 10 MXAF 70-300 mm lens. Jeffcoat uses 400 speed film and enjoys photographing wildlife at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge, using his car as a photo blind.
The pictures chosen for the web album have been taken over an extended period of time and during many trips to the Refuge. The Jeffcoats say, “Hagerman is our form of rest and relaxation. You can have the most stressful day, go to Hagerman and it is just like God wraps his arms around you to let you know that everything is going to be fine.
