Dr. Steve Goldsmith will present the program, beginning at 10 a.m., in the Education Center at the Refuge. Dr. Goldsmith will tell a few "bug stories" about local or very interesting insects and show specimens. Each story will have an ecological, evolutionary, or behavioral point. Following the talk, the group will go outdoors for a bug hunt, weather permitting. Dr. Goldsmith is Professor of Biology and Dean of Sciences at Austin College. His courses have included topics such as Evolution, Behavior, and Ecology. His research interests are ecology and evolution of insect mating systems and reproductive behavior and Ecology of Hawaiian montane wet forest.
