The Friends of Hagerman NWR has chosen not one but five people as Photographers of the Month for November. The five members of the Earley family of Plano will have an album of twelve photographs taken at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge featured on the Friends website during November. The web address is www.friendsofhagerman.com.
The Earley family began photography as a family hobby 3 years ago. The kids, Jimmy, age 14, Mariam, 12, and Joshua, 8, have a great time snapping birds and anything else they can find with their own Canon point-and-shoots. Mother, Dianne, started photography as a child herself, with a Kodak Instamatic, went on to 35 mm in college and now uses Nikon D200 and Nikon D50. Husband Mark uses Dianne’s camera also.
On their frequent visits to Hagerman, the Earleys each shoot whatever is on their side of the car and may have a tug of war over who uses which camera. Jimmy enjoys photographing birds and landscapes, Mariam is a natural at composing, and Joshua has been known to outshine Mom when it comes to birds in flight.
Anyone who enjoys nature photography at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge is invited to contact the Friends of Hagerman about photo submission. E-mail the Friends at friendsofhagerman@gmail.com for more information.
