Metro-Style Caregiver Conference in Gainesville April 30th
Article
A free Alzheimer's Caregiver Workshop is slated for April 30, 2009 at North Texas Medical Center, 1900 Hospital Blvd. Gainesville, TX. The workshop, which will run from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm, is offered by Texoma Area Agency on Aging, Texas Elderlaw Attorney Richard Barron and the Alzheimer's Association. Participants will experience an overview of Alzheimer's with information about cutting edge research, followed by a look at the law and legal mistakes caregivers often make. After a short break, a panel of experienced caregivers will share their perspective as seasoned experts in providing care. The event will round out with a presentation on available community resources and how to access them. The workshop is modeled after similar opportunities offered in the Dallas metro area. The April 30 event in Gainesville affords local caregivers and professionals to obtain this valuable information closer to home. The organizers are grateful to NTMC for sharing their space, to and to Gainesville Health & Rehab for providing refreshments. Space is available for forty participants and advance registration is required. Those interested in attending, please call 940-668-1858 to pre-register. Please leave your name and phone number if you reach a recording and your call will be returned.
