The Second of three High on the Hawg BBQ Dinners is set for Saturday, Nov. 20, at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge. This fund raising event sponsored by the Friends of Hagerman is being held in conjunction with the three hunt weekends this fall and is open to both hunters and non-hunters.
Dinner will be served from 5:30 – 8 p.m., and the tickets are $10 per person. Dinner tickets may be purchased at the door.
There will also be an archery shooting competition, from 6- 8 p.m., with tickets for $5. the shoot is open to all ages. The competition winner for each date will receive a Sportsman’s Gift Pack from Bass Pro Shops valued at $275.
Everyone purchasing a meal ticket or a competition ticket will be entered in the drawing for door prizes that will take place each evening. Prizes will include restaurant gift cards, sporting gear and more. In addition, a grand prize drawing will be held the final evening, Dec. 4, with all ticket purchasers eligible to win a PSE X Force Venvetta Bow, compliments of Landmark Bank, Pottsboro and Texoma Bowhunter, Durant.
Additional door prizes have been donated by Tanglewood Resort & Conference Center, Old World Meat Market, Academy Sports, Ducks Unlimited, American Bank of Texas, The Jalapeno Tree, Island Grill, Lowe’s, A Taxidermy Shop, The Original Yahoo Bakery, Crazy Crow Trading Post, Walmart, Andy's Outdoor Wild Game Processing and the Friends of Hagerman Nature Nook.
The 2010 edition Hunt T-shirt will be for sale at the dinners; a new design is planned for each year.
