Area photographers are invited to celebrate National Wildlife Refuge Week and join in the Fall Photo Safari 2011 at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge on Saturday, October 15. For those who have never been, the photo safari is a chance for small groups of photographers to explore the refuge, looking for the perfect nature photo op.
The water levels are currently low at Lake Texoma, but the Refuge still offers an 11,000 acre habitat for wildlife, both migratory and resident. People who have similar cameras will be grouped together and led by an experienced photographer.
Laurie Sheppard, president of the sponsoring Friends of Hagerman Nature Photo Club, says, “You don't need to be an expert - we'll help if you have questions.” The event is free of charge and the hours are 8 AM to 11:30 AM. Sheppard adds, “You're welcome to join us afterward for a brown bag lunch in the FOH Building. The club will provide beverage and dessert.”
Advance registration is required. Send your name, phone number, contact information, camera type, and experience level to fohphotoclub@gmail.com
