It’s that time of year again! Bring the kids, blankets, and lawn chairs for the 2013 Hot Summer Nights music festival on the Sherman Municipal Lawn! The festival will begin June 6th and run every Thursday at 7:30 p.m. until July 25, with the exception of July 4th. This year’s theme, “Everything Under the Stars” offers a different musical style every Thursday night; ranging from Zydeco to Country, from Big Band to Celtic – Hot Summer Nights 2013 includes something for everyone!
Gus Samuelson and the Swampadelics will open this year’s series with their Zydeco sound, also known as Bayou-Honky Tonk-Soul. Big Gus and his swampadelic brothers can be seen spreading that Louisiana sound all over Texas and are excited for their Sherman Debut. Classic rock band Revolving Door will follow on June 13th playing an assortment of your favorite classic rock songs.
Following Revolving Door will be Bluegrass artist Bluefield Express, Country artist Tempting Disaster, Jazz musician Joseph Vinchelli, Celtic festival and pub favorites The Irish Rogues, and Big Band and swing hits performed by The Royal Dukes Band.
There’s no need to cook dinner before you come! Stop by your favorite downtown Sherman restaurants where you can enjoy a wonderful meal before relaxing on the Lawn! Don’t have time? No problem, the Lions Club Concessions Trailer will be on hand with hot dogs, hamburgers, and more.
Bring the whole family out to enjoy these wonderful free community concerts! Hot Summer Nights is brought to you by the City of Sherman and Landmark Bank. For more details on the performers and schedule, visit www.shermantx.org.
