Preston Trail Chapter NSDAR offer Grants to Veterans
Article
Preston Trail Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has established an ongoing grant named “Opening Doors for Disabled Veterans”. The project is designed to assist disabled veterans living in Grayson County with accessibility issues in their homes. Specifically, the expenses eligible for consideration are widening of bathroom doorways for wheelchair access, replacement of toilet to an accessible one, hand rails, and ramp to front door of home with handrails meeting the national standard (ADA specifications). Veterans may obtain applications at Grayson County Veterans Services offices, local VFWs, local American Legions or by emailing Lisa Lettie, llettie_dar@yahoo.com. The application includes eligibility requirements set forth by the donation board. Daughters of the American Revolutions is headquartered in Washington, DC and is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing American’s future through better education for children. DAR members volunteer more than 250,000 hours annually to veterans across the United States.
