The Preston Trail Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) will meet at 6:00pm Thursday, September 18th at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro. Regent Lisa Lettie will conduct the session. Dinner begins at 5:00pm with a cost of $10. Guest speaker will be John Creel, who will provide a lively presentation as Francis Scott Key, the author of the Star Spangled Banner. Mr. Creel lives in Plano and is very active in the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite of Dallas, Shrine Hella Temple, Royal Order of Scotland and has served in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman (Combat Medic) with the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Division and the 3rd Tank Battalion. Following the program, a business meeting will be held to discuss chapter affairs. We will be welcoming two new daughters to our chapter, Allyson Lettie of Arlington Texas and Sylvia Rushing of Pottsboro Texas. Daughters will be collecting items for veterans at the Bonham VA Hospital. Guests are welcome for dinner and meeting. Women ages 18 and older who are interested in learning about NSDAR are encourage to attend. Membership is open to any woman who can trace her lineage back to a family member who either fought in or gave aid to the American Revolution.
