Preston Trail NSDAR Participates in Local Fundraiser
Article
The Annual Boot Scootin’ Ball was held at Cal Barker’s Bar–K-R Ranch in Pottsboro, Texas on October 4, 2014. Preston Trail DAR was represented by Planning and Preparation Chair Jennita Wingate, Silent Auction Chair Sara Park and Silent Auction Volunteer Lisa Lettie. Preston Trail DAR is dedicated to its local community and the safety of its citizens. The daughters volunteered well over 1,000 hours towards this event. Proceeds from the Boot Scootin’ Ball will go toward purchasing equipment for the Preston Volunteer Emergency Services (P.V.E.S), who provides emergency medical services to the Pottsboro area which includes five marinas, numerous youth camps, recreational areas, and the estimated one million annual visitors to the Lake Texoma area. The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history, and support better education for our nation's children. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible for membership. With more than 175,000 members in approximately 3,000 chapters worldwide, DAR is one of the worlds largest and most active service organizations. It also publishes the award winning American Spirit magazine. To learn more about the work of today's DAR, visit www.DAR.org. For membership information in your local chapter contact Lisa Lettie, Regent, Preston Trail Chapter, lisalettie@yahoo.com or 817-360-6830.
