The Preston Trail Chapter NSDAR met in November at Georgetown Baptist Church in Pottsboro. The meeting was presided by Regent Lisa Lettie. Members brought donations for the Bonham VA Hospital Christmas Store. The Store is a free service to all residents and gives them an opportunity to shop for Christmas presents for their loved ones. Items are beautifully wrapped in holiday paper and bows and shipped to their families for free.
Six daughters will be volunteering in the store on Wednesday, December 3rd. Additionally, members signed over 300 Christmas cards to be delivered to the residents during the holiday season.
The program was delivered by Mr. Charles Holcomb, President, Vietnam Veterans Association in Sherman, Texas. He received a certificate of appreciation and a book was donated in his honor to the Pottsboro Area Library. Following the program, a business meeting will be held to discuss chapter affairs.
Voices were sold to raise money for the Preston Trail Scholarship with the 2015 goal being $2,000.
