(Nashville, TN) May 13, 2003 – OneDay03, a solemn assembly gathering college-aged people in worship and prayer for spiritual awakening in this generation, will be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 24-27, on a private 400-acre ranch in Sherman, TX. Preparing students for this year’s gathering, Passion Conferences has created Acclimate: An Interactive CD For The Road To OneDay03, released exclusively to OneDay03 registrants to listen to during their journey to OneDay03.
“Acclimate is all about preparing our hearts to experience the fullness of God’s presence for our time together at OneDay03,” explains Passion founder and director, Louie Giglio. “All of us live in different spiritual environments at home, at work, at school, at church… Converging together from across this nation and around the world for OneDay03, we are going to ‘acclimate’ ourselves to be fully immersed in an atmosphere of God’s presence.”
As students from every state in the nation and several foreign countries including Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and Nigeria travel toward Sherman, TX, Acclimate will lead students through movements of prayer, spoken word, and worship. Hosted by Steve Fee and Amena Brown, students will be asked to stop the CD at various points to read certain chapters from the Bible including Psalm 24, Joel 2, Ezra 3, and Nehemiah 8. At other times, students will be instructed to stop for times of focused prayer and confession. Placed throughout Acclimate are ten new worship songs from the OneDay03 lead worshippers including Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman, and others.
As students prepare their hearts for OneDay03, they are encouraged to share with each other what God is revealing to them. In addition to Acclimate, Passion encourages students to take part in Prepare The Way: A Journey Of Consecration To OneDay And Beyond, a 50-day devotional designed to prepare the students for the sacred gathering and what lies beyond. Posted online in 7-day increments at www.OneDay03.com, students may participate online daily or download each set of readings. The devotional began April 28 and ends June 9, a date associated with Pentecost which is traditionally 50 days past Easter.
Led by some of the most influential worship leaders and speakers of the day, tens of thousands of college students representing every state in the nation and 26 different countries gathered for OneDay 2000 on a field in Memphis, TN to worship and pray for spiritual awakening in this generation. Three years have passed, and a new generation of college students exists. Passion felt led by God once again to equip and motivate this collegiate generation to pursue God’s glory in their lives and on campuses around the world.
