SHERMAN, TEXAS - The Austin College Theatre Department will present the play Love and Information, by Carly Churchill, April 21 to 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Ida Green Communication Center’s Beardsley Arena Theatre. Tickets are $8 to the general public and free to those with a valid Austin College ID. The production includes adult content and language.
The play is made up of many self-contained segments, all brief, that deal with how people want and process information. Director Elizabeth Parks, visiting assistant professor of theatre, said it is a play about knowing and meaning-making. “What is it to know something?” she asks. “The information is out there but do we want to know it? The play explores how we mentally and physically ‘connect the dots’ in our life and when, where, why, and how we make connections.”
