Hello Friends,
Just to let you all know, we had a terrific show with Jo-El Sonnier on the 26th ... our biggest crowd yet. We were very happy to see so many out of town
guests. If you missed it, you missed a great performance, and our new MCT BBQ Sandwich was a tremendous hit...I have to admit it is delicious, not to mention huge ... and you can't beat the price ... anywhere!
This Saturday night, August 16, we are proud to present "An Evening of Texas Bluegrass."
Hickory Hill, along with special guests Cadillac Sky, will be pickin' at the newly remodeled and cool (both literally and figuratively) Music City Texas Theater in Linden.
Hickory Hill, which is led by Music City Texas board member, John Early, has been a Texas tradition in acoustic music since 1979. Their mixture of original and traditional songs have delighted audiences at festivals and concerts all over the country and we are especially proud that they are "our own" here in E. Texas.
We became acquainted with Cadillac Sky when they performed at this year's Overton Bluegrass Festival. They're a high-energy band with a youthful, but
respectful approach to the bluegrass tradition, and we think they'll be a big hit in Linden and everywhere else they go.
The concert will begin at 7:30 P.M. Each band will play two 45-minute sets.
Admission is $10. Doors will open at 5:30 to give everyone who wants to try our MCT BBQ Sandwich a chance to come and eat early. Also, we are happy to announce that we now accept Visa and Mastercard. Advance tickets are available at the Linden Economic Development office, 201 N. Main, or at the theater Wednesday
evening from 5:30 to 9:00 PM.
The theater is located on Legion Street and Hwy. 11, one mile west of the Courthouse Square in Linden; turn right off Hwy. 11 (at the historical marker), about 1/2 mile west of Hwy. 8 . Look for the signs. RV spaces are available nearby in Linden. For further information, call the Music City Texas Theater 903-756-9934, John Early 903-562-1255 or Richard Bowden 903-814-1482. Hope to see you there!
P.S. Don't forget that MCT, Inc. is a nonprofit organization and we do accept tax deductible donations and Patron Memberships. The money that we make will be channeled into
community projects.
Thanks!
