Mark your calendar for this coming Memorial Day Weekend at Lake Texoma. Following a successful inaugural event in 2003, the Steering Committee for Gordonville Hay Day has finalized plans for the 2nd Annual Gordonville Hay Day. With a promise of "A WHOLE LOT MORE IN 2004", the event is sceduled for May 29. Activities kick off with another outstanding parade featuring local marching bands, floats, local organizations, clowns, horseback riders, community honorees, and local and national dignitaries at 10:00. An all-day festival, following the parade, will take place on the grounds of the Gordonville Community Center. The festival will feature a variety of events, arts and craft booths, public service displays, entertainment, and activities designed to appeal to young and old alike as well as those in between. Hay Day proceeds benefit the Gordonville Community Center, the oral and pictorial history project, the First Responder unit of the Gordonville Volunteer Fire Department, and the college scholarship fund. Gordonville Hay Day is organized by local citizens and supported by an impressive list of community sponsors. Citizen honorees and outstanding students will be acknowledged and congratulated at the Gordonville Community Center on Friday evening, May 29, at 7:00. The highlight of the Citizen Recognition Ceremony will be the announcement of the area's Citizen of the Year. Previous recipients include Betty and Brad Ward (2002) and Rich Worstell (2003). Interested parties are invited to view hay Day's web site at http://www.hayday.us or cll 903-523-5982 for additional information.
