O'Fiddlesticks Kitchen Shoppe will host a special appearance and baking demonstration by cookbook author Diane Cuvelier on Thursday, April 1, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Diane and her sister Bette LaPlante are co-owners of Doughmakers Bakeware and recently co-authored "The Doughmakers Cookbook." Doughmakers Bakeware is made from solid aluminum and features a patented pebble texture. The texture allows air to circulate under the food, thus creating easy release and promoting even baking. Cookies that are aked on Doughmakers cookie sheets do not overbrown. Doughmakers was started by the sisters as a fund raiser for Boy Scouts and entered the retail market in January, 2001. O'Fiddlesticks was the first store in North Central Texas to offer the bakeware to its customers and has seen many customers become loyal advocates of the pans. Doughmakers recently recieved a performance patent, the most difficult typ of patent to recieve, because they were able to prove to the United States Patent Office that the texture changes the performance of the pans. The bakeware is guaranteed not to rust or warp for 10 years. "The Doughmakers Cookbook" features 125 of the sisters' recipes. Some are from their own kitchens, but many come from loyal customers of the bakeware. Each recipe includes a tip for success in baking and business. Copies of the cookbook will be available for sale during the appearance and demonstration, and each cookbook purchase will include a free pizza pan. The demonstration is free to the public and reservations will not be taken. O'Fiddlesticks Kitchen Shoppe is located at 1800 North Travis Street, Suite A. The kitcenware / gourmet store is located across the street from teh Sherman Albertson's. For further information or directions to the store, please call owner Amy Hoffman-Shehan at 903-892-4420.
