Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. (Dallas Contracting) was contracted by Tulfra Management Co., LLC., a commercial and industrial real estate developer, to perform demolition and environmental services at a industrial building located in Clifton, New Jersey. The scope of work included demolition of all tanks, piping and remaining process equipment, interior demolition/strip-out of wood frame structure, boilers, partitions, and mezzanines, lab packing of chemicals, asbestos abatement of piping insulation, and the purging and removal of three (3) 1,850 gallon underground propane tanks.
Dallas Contracting subcontracted the asbestos abatement of materials in the building. Interior demolition/ Strip Out of the building included removal of windows, interior masonry non-load bearing walls, mechanical and electrical, mezzanines and staircases, boilers and related equipment, wood framing, and process equipment. Exterior demolition included the removal of an aboveground storage tank area, a block building, and slabs. Environmental services included analysis, lab packing, and disposal of various chemicals. In addition, three (3) 1,850 gallon underground propane tanks were purged, inerted and removed. A 10,000 gallon #6 fuel oil tank was also cleaned and removed. All work was completed within several months without incident or injury.
