Today I experienced another "first" in my life. Today, my first grandchild completed Confirmation and was baptized. Now she is not my first as in the first-born, but the first to experience this wonderful chance to make a commitment to the Lord. I have had other children (and grandchildren) to make a commitment - but somehow this was a very special one. I have watched this little girl become a happy serene young lady in spite of some obstacles that adults would have a hard time overcoming. She has come through with the same sweet smile on her face. How wonderful it is to watch a young lady like this make the decision she has made. The Lord tells us that we should become like a child and enter His courts. If we could become like this child (oops!) young lady, what a happy earth this would be. If we could have the faith that she has that her prayers will be answered, what better citizens we would be. If we had the love that this young lady possesses, the sun would always be shining. As you watch your children grow, always remember that they have needs that you must pray about. There will be times that they will have storm clouds move it, but if you pray for them and with them, the rainbow will shine.
