Representative Ron Clark announced that the Howe Community Library is the recipient of $36,000 in a grant from the Texas Telecommunication Fund (TIF) Board. The grant was awarded based on the Howe Library’s potential of enhancing knowledge, improving public access, and building partnerships in the State through collaboration. “The funds will allow the Howe Library to expand their current library resources by providing infrastructure, informational databases, and modern equipment and software for resource sharing,” Clark stated.
The TIF State funding source was created in 1995 to allow all Texans access to modern technology and Internet resources. “People are able to gain the expertise and skills they need to succeed in this technological age by using the resources of libraries nearby,” said Representative Clark. “I am pleased that Howe Community Library is a recipient of this grant money to continue their excellent service to the community,” said Clark.
Since its creation in 1995, TIF has awarded more than $1.8 billion in grants for libraries, public schools, institutions of higher education, and public, not-for-profit healthcare facilities.
