Since January 1, 2002, Texans have had the opportunity to add their name, address and telephone number to two "No Call Lists." This identifies the consumer as one who does not wish to receive telemarketing calls. These two "No Call Lists" are maintained by the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUC). One list prevents telephone solicitations to residential phone numbers from all telemarketers operating in Texas, while the second applies to only Retail Electric Providers (REPs) and telemarketers calling on their behalf to residential or business numbers.
Consumers may register for either or both lists in 3 ways:
1. Online at http://www.texasnocall.com for instant registration. The site is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
2. Call toll-free 1-866-896-6225 to obtain an application to register.
3. Send a written request for an application to:

Statewide "Do Not Call List": There will be a charge of $2.25 to register each residential number(s) to be included in the statewide "Do Not Call List" only. Your registered telephone number will remain on the list for three years from the date your residential telephone number is first published on the list. State law limits this list to residential phone numbers only.
"Electric No Call List": If you wish to register ONLY for the Electric No Call List, you will pay a charge of $2.55 for each telephone number, and the number will remain on the list for five years. State law permits both residential and business numbers to be included on the "Electric No Call List."
Both Lists: Residential numbers may be included on both lists. The cost is $4.80* per residential phone number, which will remain on both lists for five years.
NOTE: *Half-price offer. Texas residents can register for both the Statewide "Do Not Call List" and the "Electric No Call List" for $2.40 for a 5 year period. This offer is available for residents signing up through the Internet or by calling 1-866-896-6225 and is good from now until December 31, 2002.
