ONWARD AND UPWARD "Best Newcomer", Ingram Hill, Ascends The Old-Fashioned Way (GORDONVILLE, TX) - - August 26, 2003 - - Ingram Hill, the pop/rock quartet of which Memphis Flyer writes, "Emerging quietly over the past year as one of the city's most popular bands, Ingram Hill seems to have crossed a threshold" is on tour now in support of its forthcoming CD, and will perform an all-ages show at GENE'S HAMBURGER HARBOR (31083 Highway 377) on Friday, September 12. Admission is $5 at the gate, which opens at 6 pm. First set starts at 7 pm; second set at 8:45. For more info call (903) 523-2509. Ingram Hill's Fall tour is in support of the band's forthcoming sophomore effort, June's Picture Show (Traveler Records). Produced by Rick Beato at Tree Recording in Atlanta, the 12-track disc is scheduled for release in October. Among the dozen songs is the undeniable tearjerker, "Wasted All On You" and "To The Grave," a melancholy tune about murder/suicide that strays from the group's usual upbeat radio-ready rock. Also featured are new versions of crowd favorites, "Will I Ever Make It Home" and "Almost Perfect." Both songs appeared on Ingram Hill's debut, Until Now (2002) which hit #5 on the retail charts in their hometown of Memphis, TN and has scanned more than 10,000 units. The impressive sales figures owe much to the band members' road warrior ethic, which is entrenched in winning fans on a show-by-show basis. The foursome is on tour all year long, and played 250 shows last year alone. Noting the band's relentless schedule, the Commercial Appeal remarks, ". . . building a national following the old-fashioned way. . . has turned them into quite a live act." In addition, the quartet's rapid ascent earned them the honor for "Best Newcomer" last Spring at the Recording Academy's Premier Players Awards in Tennessee. Like its predecessor, June's Picture Show will be released on the band's own Traveler Records. A radio campaign targeting Triple A and Modern AC stations in will launch mid-August. This Summer, highlight shows include performances with Lisa Marie Presley, Michelle Branch, Lifehouse, and O.A.R. Formed in the summer of 2000, Ingram Hill is Justin Moore (vocals/guitar), Phil Bogard (guitar), Shea Sowell (bass/vocals), and Matt Chambless (drums). The 23 year olds initially met at the University of Memphis where Moore and Chambless were attending on full scholarships. # # #
