I love this area of Northwestern Grayson County! It is special and has always been the home of many great people. I myself have had relatives here for over 150 years. I am a lifelong resident of the rural area northwest of Pottsboro and have always had a desire to showcase the local knowledge of the amazing history of this area of northwestern Grayson County, It always seemed to have been a bit neglected by those concentrating on larger towns. I did not feel equal to the task, but no one else was doing it, so I started a Facebook page called "Pottsboro Texas Genealogy - Old Times Remembered," in which I try to preserve some of this area's history, pictures and memories before it is all lost. I have a history column in the Pottsboro Sun newspaper and have so far written fourteen books about the history of northwestern Grayson County.
I have given several local history related speeches and costumed living history presentations. I enjoy nature photography and sell prints of my photo art. I have produced an inspirational art book called “Reflections on the Beauty of Lake Texoma”. All my books are available on Amazon.com, directly from the author, at etsy.com from the store PottsboroTexasBooks, and in Denison on Main Street at The Book Rack, The Main Street Mall; in Sherman at Touch of Class Antique Mall and Patsy’s Café in Pottsboro.
I had to start a new direction in my life at 54 years of age after having become seriously ill. My story is, never give up, don’t get discouraged, whatever your challenges. If you keep swinging, you at least have a chance to hit the ball out of the park!
